Sea Grape roots

Question
We planted two small Sea Grape plants several years ago very near (1' from) our block sea wall. We love them but they are geting very large now 12-15 ft high and we are a little concerned about the root system. Do they have a deep tap root or a spider like root system and will it ultimately damage our sea wall? PS the canal (fresh water) is about 6-10 ft straight down at the wall so if the root is a tap root it is well under the water and teh wall by now......thanks!

Answer
Hi George, I see many Sea Grapes planted near sea walls all around me here in Florida, and many of them are much bigger then yours; I have never seen any penetration, so I am inclined to think they are not a serious threat. If it were to be a hindrance, then it would have manifested itself by now. Nick
