sago palm

Question
How do I go about transplanting suckers from a sago palm ?

Answer
Hi Dan,dig,  cut or snap them away from the mother and put them in a mixture of part sand and part peat moss; keep them in a well lit area and water them initially, then only when they are dry one third of the way down the pot. Use small containers, this will make it easier to keep irrigated; don't allow the bottom to remain wet, or it will rot. When you plant them, plant them with the bottom third submerged in the soil. It usually takes about 2 months for roots to form. Nick
