I think I over pruned my queen palm

Question

Queen Palm 1
We had a very harsh winter in Houston, many sub freezing nights. I have 5 Queen Palms around My pool. With 3 of them Im seeing new growth. 2 of them, I am not. Ive cut them back, Im afraid maybe too much? Can you tell me what you think?

Answer
Scott, I couldn't really make out if there were any fronds at all on it, but if not, it will be difficult, for it needs its fronds to photosynthesize (take in nutrients..). Spray the ones that have fronds in the morning with a "Chelated Palm nutritional spray" this will force nutrients directly into the system of the Palm and give it a boost. The reason for doing it in the morning, is the fronds are wet with dew, and the stomata (pores)are open so the nutrients will be readily taken in. Nick
