areca freeze damage

Question
I have five Areca in Tampa which were damaged by the recent cold. all trees are ten to twelve feet tall and all have lost their fronds and the stalks are turning brown in some cases half way down and other cases to the ground. Is there any thing I can do. I also don't know where to prune. They were the most bountiful trees.Thank You inadvance Bill K.

Answer
Bill, Arecas are pretty durable, they were stung by the freeze, but should send out new growth from the ground before long....patience is a virtue, once new growth is well established , then you can prune off the old, dead fronds. You will have a clear picture by the end of June, which are alive and which may not come back. Nick
