Cherry Tree Maggots

Question
Well, we have determined that one of our 4 cherry trees has been attacked by fruit fly maggots!  My question, though, is this:  My husband ate a few off the infected tree without close inspection.  Therefor, I must assume that he ate a few maggots.  Other than damaging his appetite, is this harmful to him?

Thank You!

Answer
No it will not harm your husband to eat a few insects. There are many cultures that eat insects. We in the Southern U.S. eat wild plums when they are in season and every once in a while you get half a worm in the plum. We just think of it as "added protent"!!
