Question
Hi Jim,
Can I use Roundup or what ever to kill a large birch tree in my yard.  I would like to do this while leaving the tree standing.  Thanks for all of your help.

Yes Roundup will work. On large trees where you can not spray the foliage (the usual method of killiong plants with Roundup) I would suggest you take an axe (hatchet) and make cuts all around the trunk of the tree--fill these cuts with Roundup undiluted from the container. The tree will take up the herbicide and translocate it to the root system and kill the tree.
