Incense Cedar

Question
I bought an Incense Cendar and planted it before I knew how tall and wide it would grow.  The local nursery tells me that it will not reach it's hight of 85-105 feet "in my life time".  If I have to move it I would like to move it now.  How long would it take for this tree to reach, say 50 feet?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Answer
Nellie,

Most tree growth information usually lists mature heights.  This is a faster growing species, but faster than what.  A tree that grows 6" per year could be considered fast growing.  I am going to guess on this but I would say it would take at least 50 years if the plant grows at 1' per year, which I doubt.  If you are considering moving the tree, move it.  That way someone in the future will not have to deal with a tree that is too big for it's space.
