Tibouchina urvilleana

Question
I am thinking of planting one in front of my home.  I live in Victoria , British Columbia.  It will go on The west side in full sun against the house.  We normally get rain in the winter with the occasional freeze and light snow.  Will it suvive the winters?

Answer
I do not think it will survive your winters. It can not stand temperatures below freezing. Does best above 40 F. Tender, so perfect for the large planter that comes into a greenhouse for the winter; or plant it in the garden and just say goodbye at frost. ( A heavy mulch and a mild winter may lead to a surprise return show.)
