New trees, including weeping willow, dwarf apple & weeping crab

Question
Hi, late this fall we planted a small weeping willow, 2 dwarf apples and a weeping crab.  Do you recommend putting root stimulant on these young trees and, if so, when?  We are in southeast Iowa. Thanks!!

Answer
No root hormone works as the plant is planted not after the fact. Mulch around the plants with a good mulch to help hole water this summer. Next winter fertilize the trees with 13-13-13 fertilizer. Just let them grow this year and establish a root system.
