Question
Those pesty spiked balls that fall. Is there a one type treatment that will forever eliminate these pests from hell. Or will I have to do an annual treatment? If so they are history in my book. Love the colors, any suggestions on a fast growing colorful tree. Mine are about 25-30 feet tall, approx. 15yrs. old. Thank you for your help.  Jeff

The balls are the fruit of the tree and the flowers could be sprayed to stop the production but this would have to be done each year. There is a fruitless variety of Liquid Ambar. Liquidambar styraciflua 慠otundiloba?(U950)  a fruitless cultivar of this magnificent tree.
