Dying cedars

Question
Greetings!  We planted a row of 6' cedars along the rear of our property line this past May.  They were planted in new triple mix (to 3'), were watered every few days, and we used 5-15-5 root stimulator.  They get at least 6 hours of sun a day.  They seemed to be doing okay, until just recently.  Several are looking very dry & brown in the centre.  Is it possible that concrete dust blowing on them for the past 2 weeks from a neighbours pool/interlock patio project could have affected them?  Do you have suggestions to revive them?

Answer
The dust would not cause the foliage in the center of the trees to be damaged --you would have the new growth at the ends of the branches damaged first by things like extreme dust etc..

They do not like too much water so I would not water but once a week if it does not rain. The water with 1 inch of water--place a pan under the trees and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop.

Cedars also will shed some needles in the center due to shading. As long as the needles near the ends of the branches are not dying the tree should be ok.
