kill a chinaberry tree stump

Question
I have cut down a huge chinaberry tree (it split into 4 large stumps about a foot out of the ground) because it was going to fall on my home. that was early this spring and now it is a huge bush 7 ft high and 10 ft diameter. I keep hearing I should kill it. What is the best way to do that? Some say: 1) drill holes and fill with rock salt or gas or diesel then burn; cover so no light can get to it. I am in the city limits and don't want to cause a problem with the soil for other vegetation-plan to plant a tree in it's place. What would you recommend?
Thank you, Joe

Answer
Joe, No worries this is an easy one. Simply buy some Roundup in the concentrate form, not premixed and paint the leaves and bark of the shrub/stump careful not to get any on any important plants. The one hitch is this works best when temps are 60-80 degrees because the plant has to actively metabolize the herbicide. SO wait for a warm day, strap on rubber gloves and kill that pest!
Good Luck!
