planting a blue spruce

Question
I recently got a blue spruce from a display at work and want to plant it in my yard. It's been inside. I want to plant it outside but it is 30 degrees outside. Am I better off keeping it in a pot until spring and then planting it outside or is ok to plant outside now. If so, should I put it on my porch for a few weeks to get acclimated to the outside first?

Answer
I would plant as if it were a living Christmas tree. I would put it on the porch for a week and make sure the tree is watered during this time period. Do not plant it in frozen soil but you can go ahead and plant it now. Here is a web link to planting a living Christmas tree and the instruction for this tree should be the same. http://www.wikihow.com/Plant-a-Living-Christmas-Tree
