Watering Rose of Sharons

Question
We have 34 Rose of Sharons planted down our driveway. We planted 10 first and then ordered 20 more, we planted them like the directions tolds us, but, now, the 20 that we planted last have little buds on them and the first 10 have brown leaves and looks like they are dying. I don't know if we are watering them to much or not enough. They are all planted in the sunlight. What should we do? Please I need your help. Thank You, Patricia

Answer
Patricia,
Planting anything along a driveway (whether it be blacktop or stone) is risky. These materials throw off heat which can cause the plants to go into drought stress.
I would recommend watering the using a soaker hose to water them for at least 30 minutes every other day. This should help to bring the first 10 back and maintain the other 20.
Good luck.
