Good evening Lynnette. I'm trying to find a rose that was at the first house my parents lived together in. I want to buy them this rose for their 35th wedding anniversary. It is called McGredy's Sunset; hybrid tea 1936. It must be available somewhere. Any suggestions? Is this a rare variety? Really anxiously searching. Thanks, Michelle

There are over 300 new roses introduced each year so you can see how easy it is for a rose to get lost in the mists of time. The commercial life of a rose is about 5 years and then a rose nursery will replace it if another comes along that appeals to the public. Peter Beales in England is the only nursery that carries it. He doesn't ship into the States but you could email the nursery and ask if they have supplied any American nursery with McGredys Sunset lately. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Lynnette
