Mme Ferdinand Jamin

Question
I live in Southwest Florida, an area difficult to grow roses because of the climate. I have been successful in helping my mother grow roses here, however. She would love to have the original "American Beauty" rose because HER mother raised them. How could that be possible? Pots on the lanai? Indoors? I will do anything to help her with this project, she is elderly and it would mean so much to her. Also, where and when (springtime?) can I locate this rose?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Barbara-

Try the website link below:

It will tell you where you can buy this rose.

This rose is good for Zone 6 and higher, so it should be o.k. for your zone 10.  You can plant a potted rose any time of the year.  I would not get a bareroot rose for your area.

Good luck-

Carlene
