IS OK TO TRIM ROSES ON NOVEMBER?

Question
Is ok to trim roses on November? I live on Sugar Land Tx,20 minutes from Houston.

Answer
Hi Celso-

Yes - go ahead and give your roses a light pruning in November - it won't hurt them and it will encourage more bloom.  In our area, roses can bloom until December or January.  Sometimes we don't have a hard freeze until January.  After the last hard freeze(I usually wait until February 15th) I do more pruning to cut off any dead or frost damaged canes.

Good Luck-

Carlene
