Help on Rose

HI,

I am having some problems with my roses.
I want someone to ID's these roses for me please?
I live in Katy(Houston), TX - Zone 9a

Also, 2 questions.
#1. Yellow Rose picture -- The green leaf is turning yellow with brown spots. What might be the reason??

#2. White Rose pciture -- The petals have a brown edge which makes it look as if the flower got a sun burn. What might be the reason?

Answer
The leaf that is turning yellow with brown spots is a fungal rose disease called black spot. Use any rose spray for black spot (it will say it on the front label) and it will kill the fungus on the leaves.
The brown edge is not a serious problem as it could be caused by sun burn, too much fertilizer or frost which probably does not apply to your area. It will go away in time. If you think it is fertilizer burn then just keep watering the plant well for 5 days to help dilute the chemicals.
As for identifying the rose pictures, it is almost impossible as there are over 300 new roses introduced each year and so many look alike. The orange rose looks like a shrub type rose to me and so wouldn't require any pruning unless you wanted to cut it back. The other two look like hybrid teas and should be pruned back to about 18 inches each spring. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
