If you deadhead the Lady Banks rose bush while it is blooming will it bloom longer?

Lady Banks rose blooms on old wood so it has already made the flowers for this season. Then they come is one vigorous flush. Dead heading will not prolong the flowering longer. You only dead head roses to help the bush to make a second flowering instead of making hips which stop them from making a lot of flowers.
