red sunblazer rose

Question
when can i transfer this from 8" or 10" pot to ground - was given  on mothers day, kept it inside a week as instructed, cut off wilted parts, set it out.  now it looks healthy/budding.  the weather seems too hot for transfering from pot to ground.  please advise.  also, pls. tell me if this is a climber - should i put a trellis behind it when i put it in the ground?

Answer
Roses hate to be disturbed and if your rose is doing well then I wouldn't do it now. Wait until it is dormant and has dropped all it's leaves off, then you can change the pot size such as an 12 inch container or plant it in the ground. Red Sunblaze is a small bush rose and could grow to about 18 inches high if it is happy and makes a nice tidy looking plant and so won't need any support. If it appears weak now, it will toughen up once it is out of the pot and will support itself.
