Roses buds opening

Question
I have a few roses that still have buds on them, some are a nice size bud but not quite ready to open. I am in zone 6 and the weather is now cold 40-50 and should be in the 60's next week. Is their anything that I can do to get these rosebuds to open. I have a Queen Elizabeth, a Liv Tyler hybrid tea, a Fairy floribunda and a Johann Stauss Hybrid Tea.

Thank you.

Eva

Answer
Not much you can do to make a bud open when it is that closed stage. 40 to 50 won't freeze the blooms so if the bud sepals (the thin green leaves that are on the base or around the bud) have turned down, then cut the rose off and bring it into the house. The best time to take a rose into the home is when the bud sepals are turned down. However, if the rose is a very full one, then wait just a little longer until you see the tip of the bud opening and showing more colour.
