Black Baccara

Question
Hi there,

Last week I planted my Black Baccara from my pot into my back garden.. I have quite a few of roses about to start growing, and I Just found out that a few of my leaves are with white dust on them.. Does this meant that they are getting sick? Is there anything I can to to cure the leaves?

Answer
If your roses are getting what looks like a white dust on the leaves, then your weather conditions are perfect for a fungal disease called Downey Mildew. Any rose fungicide, for mildew diseases, will solve the problem. However you can try spraying them daily with 2 tablespoons baking soda in 1 gallon of water. Keep spraying making sure you get the mixture under the leaves, until there is no evidence of any white spots, just nice, clean, new leaf growth.
