Perriwinkle weed spraying

Question
We, live in Oakville, Ontario. Near Toronto. My Mother has perriwinkle growing in the back yard as a lawn cover. She wants to keep the perriwinkle but has to get rid of the weeds. Is there any spray or weed killer that will kill the weeds but not the perriwinkle? She needs to clean up the backyard and the soil is mostly clay.

Thankyou.
Patricia K. Mills.

Answer
Patricia,
A few years ago I found a wonderful product called Grass Be Gone by Ortho.
I needed it for killing Bermuda grass in a Liriope bed. It worked with several applications. I will give you the info below that I got from the www.ortho.com web site or you can go there and look yourself. I bought mine at Lowes last year. That is the only place I have seen it and your question reminds me that I need to go get some before it flies off the shelf as it does every year.I keep thinking to tell my local WalMart garden center manager to start getting some because it does work wonders. I can't figure out why all garden centers don't stock it. However, please test a small area first and wait to make sure it does OK on the Periwinkle groundcover becase I would hate for it to kill it as well, so I test everything like that first.
Here is the info I got:

Ortho > Product Guide > Non-Lawn Weed Control > Weed & Grass Killer > Ortho?Grass-B-Gon?Grass
