Care of Columbine

Question
Hi, Tom
I'm new to gardening, and I just planted some Columbine in a raised bed. Now there are quite a few seed pods on the plants, and I don't know if I should let them mature and then cut them back or cut them back now. They haven't started to turn brown yet. There were blooms up to a week ago, but now there are none, just the seed pods. Also, should I deadhead once it's done blooming?

Answer
Hi Jo-Ann,
Thanx for your question.  You may deadhead any time after blooming if you don't want to save the seeds.  If you want to save the seeds let the pods turn brown and dry out.  Sometimes columbines will continue to bloom a little bit if dead headed.  I hope this helps.
Tom
