I want to take some yellow butter cups from a field and plant them in my flower garden. I live in TN. I think that I am in zone 6. When am I able to dig these up to move them?

Autumn would have been better, but since it's way long gone, Plan B -- Spring Transplants -- will have to do.

Buttercups -- these are your name for Daffodils?

You'll need a big shovel and some huge pots to take the whole rootball for this exercise.  And believe me, this will be an exercise.  From the weight of the mud to the hauling of the pots and the digging of the holes.
