cast iron plant

Question
i have some cast iron plants that were given to me from on top of a mountain, they are really bad wind blown and have some cold damage, can i cut them back at the ground and them come back ok? what do you suggest?

Answer
Hi Tony,
Thanx for your question.  I take it these plants were replanted in the ground outdoors where you live?  If that's the case, and your climate is okay for these plants, I would just leave them alone for a while.  Keep them watered, feed them a 12-12-12 fertilizer following the directions (balanced fertilizer) on the package.  Cut off the old, dead leaves but don't cut the plant back to the ground.  I hope this helps.
Tom
