Answer
Hola Ram髇,
Que pasa?  Ok, I'm guessing by looking at the map that you are most likely in Zone 5.  Your elevation was at about 1,054 feet so your not mountainous.  Generally, crape myrtles don't do well in Zone 5 however, I have seen them survive.  What happens is if they are planted in a protected place, protected from the cold north winter wind, the roots will usually survive.  The plant dies back to the ground in the winter and then new growth emerges in the spring with flowering in the summer.  If I were you, I would go to a local nursery and look for cultivars that have been bred for cooler climates.  There are some hybrids out there that are cold hardy.

I have no experience with this company so I am not recommending it, just pointing it out as an example.  Aaron's Farm markets a crape myrtle rated for Zone 5.

I hope this helps.
