juniper

Question
Unlike the gentlemen who wanted to save his juniper, I would like to get rid on my juniper. This juniper was planted on the bottom of my sloping yard before I moved here, about 25 years ago. It is the creeping juniper and it is about 6ft by 20 feet and it just doesn't look good at the bottom of the hill, edged on the road. It's sparse but keeps on growing no matter what I do to it. I have never used chemicals to treat it and would like to stay away from chemicals after reading your article about chemicals and how much unseen damage they can cause. thank you. Karen

Answer
Hi Karen,
Thanx for your question.  It sounds to me like you'll need to locate the individual plants and just dig them up.  It's probably going to be a big job and you may want to enlist the assistance of a professional to do it.  The last result is Roundup and I do advocate it's use when absolutely necessary.  I hope this helps.
Tom
