Knockout Roses

Question
My roses have seemed to have burned up.  I had to repot them and I added some miracle grow but may have put to much.  Is there anything I can do to bring them back.  Thank you so much for your help.

Answer
Hi Donna,
Thanx for your question.  Pot-grown plants need water every day, especially in hot, dry climates.  You may have to water twice a day in some very warm areas of the Plains States and the Southwest.  A sidedressing of well-composted manure is far better than Miracle Grow.  Miracle Grow is ok but I would rather use something natural like well-composted manure.  It doesn't stink, it's safe and it has all the nutrients your plants need.  You can burn plants up using too much fertilizer.  If you think you've added too much fertilizer you can leach it out gradually by giving the plant a good soaking but make sure the  pot drains well.  The plant should eventually recover.  Remember to always follow the instructions on the packages of fertilizers and other chemicals for your own safety and for the safety of your plants.  I hope this helps.
Tom
