Winterizing potted evergreens

Question
I live in northeastern Pennsylvania. ( Zone 5 )I have three pencil evergreens that I have had planted in the ground for the past two years. They are now approximately 4' tall. This past year I decided to replant them to 4 gallon pots so I could move them around for landscaping. Now that winteris approaching, I am undecided as to what to do with them. I do not have a garage but do have a screened in patio attached to the house where they would be out of the wind, or they can be moved to my cellar that is kept at very low temperatures.

Would appreciate any suggestions you may have for me.

Thank You

Answer
Hi Neil,
Thanx for your question.  I think moving the potted pencil hollies (I think that's what you have.) into your screened in patio will suffice as enough protection from the north wind.  They will still get light from the outside but will be protected from extreme cold from the north that might damage or kill the roots not protected in the ground.  I hope this helps.
Tom
