Question
sorry I forgot to tell u I live in Los Angeles and the plants is located on the east side window ty again

Answer
Hi again Lydia!

Oops!  Didn't get this until after I'd already responded to your first note and sent it off.

An east window in Los Angeles would be a great location to grow orchids, especially phals.  It is okay to expose it to a couple hours of direct early morning sunlight there with mostly bright shade the rest of the day.

Depending upon what you decide to do with it (per instructions already sent), once it is growing healthily again you can place it near the window.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention earlier is that if you try growing the phal in a smaller pot, it may still continue to slowly go down hill.  The reason for this would be that the mother phal will be attempting to keep her keiki or baby alive and growing, sacrificing her own health.  Sort of sounds like human mothers, doesn't it?  (grin)  Keep an eye on both and if the mother appears to be really stressed out (more crinkly leaves forming), you have a decision to make as to which to sacrifice.  I hope it doesn't come to that but it might, just wanted you to be aware of the possibility.
