Mystery Orchid
I just got a beautiful orchid but have no idea what type it is. It produces tons of lovely frilly white flowers with pink tips that grow up the super chubby stems at each leaf point. I want to make sure I know how to properly take care of this plant so I can keep it healthy and happy for a long time. Do you know anything about this plant? Thank you!
AnswerThank you for the picture Shoshana. The plant is a nobile type of dendrobium. They prefer bright and cool conditions. You can grow it outside in a sem-shaded location during periods when the temperatures range between 45 -70 degrees. Bring it in to a sunny window when the temperatures are higher or lower than this range. Give it a rest (ie limited watering and feeding) until you see new growth emerging-- then feed and water it at least once per week.
