Identifying my plant...

Question
I have this cutting that was given to me with no explination of what it is.  It's a neat plant and kinda acts like a cactus...more like the Christmas Catus looking...but much bigger.  It grows a long tenticle with these air roots sticking out, then it kinda pokes a leaf out where ever it decides to.  The tenticles are leaves but this...and eventually they seem to grow into fatter leaves.  If you want a picture, I could send one.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Matthew,

I believe you have a plant that is commonly called orchid cactus or night-blooming cereus. Its botanical name is Epiphyllum oxypetalum.

If I am wrong or you are unsure, then you can e-mail a photo to me at my address below.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
