identifying my plant

Question
I have a large potted palm-like plant that i bought 18 mnths ago and i have no idea what it is.. it is now approx 6ft tall and consists of two tone green leaves stemming from the centre but with no stem or trunk other than that (does this mean it was originally a cutting?)  the leaves are approx 1.5 ft long and have a tendency to split.  Unfortunately it is now outgrowing my house (it was half this height when bought) and i need to sell/donate it but could do with knowing what it is called... thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Katherine,

Your plant may be a corn plant or Dracaena massangeana,  although the splitting of the leaves does not quite fit with the rest of the description.

If this is not what you have, can you e-mail a photo of your plant to me at [email protected]?
