Question
I am going to be starting a small business raising
houseplants.  I am looking for some great reference books
on growing house plants and solving various problems in
growing them.  Are there any you could recommend?

Hi Judy
What type of a business are you starting?  I worked in a small plant shop for a few years, which I loved!  I also use to work doing design with houseplants for offices and model homes.  That was a lot of work but enjoyable.  
As far as reference books go, one that I like a lot is from the 'Dummies' set:
Houseplants for Dummies by Larry Hodgson.  It gives good advice on not only how to care for houseplants but how to choose good ones.

Ortho has a good book that gives good advice on the correct place to put plants and how to decorate with plants.  "Complete Guide to Houseplants" or "Ortho's All About Houseplants"

One of my favorites and one that I have always had is by Jerry Brown-"Jerry Baker's Happy, Healthy Houseplants".  He has written several different houseplant books.
