I have a house plant and I dont know what kind it is so I dont know what to do with it!

Question
I have a house plant that has gotten about 30cm tall, it is light green, has one stem with thick leaves growing out of it.  Do you know what type of plant this is because it just keeps getting taller and I don't know what to do with it.  Some of the leaves have fallen off and there are what look like little roots in place of the leaves.
Thank you

Answer
Hi Jennifer,

There are many plants that could fit your general description. A Kalanchoe daigremontiana comes to mind, but that is merely an educated guess.

If you can e-mail a photo to me at the address below, then I will ID the plant for you and tell you how to care for it. Otherwise, please send me a more detailed description including leaf shape and size, stem thickness, just where the air roots are attached to the plant, and any other distinguishing characteristics.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
