yellowish white substance growing in soil

Question
I do not know what type of plant i have, its leaves are in the shape of elephant ears and it looks quite healthy, i have had it for a year now, and i just notice that it has a yellowish white substance growing in the soil with little bright yellow things (i do not know how else to describe them) growing in them, ive looked every where for a solution or explanation im lost! please help me i dont know where to begin with this

Answer
Hi Krystal,

From your brief description, I think you may have a fungus/mushroom growing on the soil. If you can e-mail me a photo that would be very helful. Otherwise, please provide me with a more detailed description.
