Low-light plants.

Question
I noticed that one of your specialties is low-light plants.  I have a somewhat dark bathroom, that brightens up a bit in the late afternoon.  I have a lucky bamboo (draecena), and a golden pothos on the window sill that are doing well.  Can you suggest a few other plants that might possibly make it in there?  I know this information is vague, but there is no way I can figure out the whole light candle thing.  Thanks in advance.

Betty

Answer
Hi Betty,

LOL! The whole footcandle thing is far more complicated than it needs to be and there are much better ways to talk about light intensity. In fact, your information is sufficient for me to recommend some plants.

In addition to the two that you mentioned, I recommend Chinese evergreen, ZZ plant, parlor palm, Dracaena 'Janet Craig' compacta, peace lily, Philodendron, and Dieffenbachia.

I have written an article on low light plants that I can email to you if you send a request to me at my address below.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
