Blackleaf

Question
How can I get rid of blackleaf on my gardenia and lemon and lime tree leaves? The gardenia tree sits in an atrium and the 2 citrus trees are in large patio pots. The citrus trees are about 25 feet away from the gardenia tree and I'm guessing maybe it's catching? Thank you for any help.
PS
We have had very dry conditions the past few months, but I've tried to keep the trees evenly watered.....I live in Florida near the water

Answer
Hi Sharon,

Blackleaf is something that ordinarily occurs on grape leaves, not citrus or Gardenia. Black spot is something else entirely and can occur on citrus fruit, but not usually on leaves. Black sooty mold appears on a variety of plant leaves. So I am not sure what it is that we are dealing with here. Can you tell me why you think it is blackleaf and also describe it or send me a photo that shows it.

Are your plants growing outside? If so, then they are exposed to conditions that are outside my area of expertise, which is limited to indoor houseplants.

Regards,
Will Creed
