Plant soil pest

Question
I have noticed that two of my indoor plants have tiny little greyish bugs wandering around the soil. They don't seem to fly, and  there doesn't seem to be any bugs on the plants. Also, the plants are relatively healthy, so I don't even know if the bugs are harming them.  Do you have any idea how i would get rid of them or what they are?

Answer
Oh dear,

It sounds like mealy bugs or mites to me.  This can be very very bad.  They eat the roots of your plant until it dies.

First repot it...next go to your local nursery and ask them for a systemic insecticide and AVID spray or something like it.  Follow the directions on the bottles for best results.

If this is too much toss the plants and get new or just wait it out until they decline.

Some people do not want to mess with getting rid of bugs and I don't blame them.  They are hard to get rid of.

I hope this helps you
Happy Growing
Kristina
