How do Ire-root the top of a corn plant

Question
The top of my corn plant broke off. Do I re root it in water or replant in a pot?

Answer
Hi Esther,

If it is the upper two feet or less that broke off, then I suggest rooting it in water. When it has developed roots about an inch long, it can be moved into a small pot with damp soil.

If the broken off section is more than two feet long, then I recommend that you strip off the lower leaves and cut off the lower stem until you have a two foot section remaining.

Tip cuttings (two feet or less) root more easily than older. longer cuttings.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
