Poganotherum Monica dying

Question
I bought a plant just two weeks ago, in a 12 cm. pot, looking very green, healthy and thick. It was noted "BAMBOO Poganotherum Monica". I kept it inside, next to a window with indirect east-south sun. Just a few days after it started drying. i kept watering it, i soked it, i put it on the balcony(it almost died), i brought it again in next to the window, misted it, everything. it just kept becoming like dry grass. finally i repoted it into a slighly bigger pot (the pot was full of roots)a few days ago and the situation is the same. what do i do?
PS. the conditions here are dry heat around 35 degrees celsius.

Answer
Hi Bessie,

Your bamboo needs a tremendous amount of direct light and lots of water. For that reason, it is not a very good indoor potted plant and is rarely used that way.

Repotting to a larger pot is a good idea, however, that will not produce instant results. Once the leaves dry, they do not recover. If the roots are healthy and kept moist at all times, then healthy new growth should emerge. But even a single lapse in watering can easily cause the new leaves to dry out, as well.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
