Anthurium-poisonous?

Question
Just wondering if the anthurium is a poisonous plant. I have a cat that likes to get into my plants once in a while. I bought this beautiful plant for the immediate gradification in my new house but have tucked it away until I know for sure that my furry friend will not be harmed if he so indulges. Thanks you for sharing any knowledge!

Answer
Hi Jan,

The ASPCA website (http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pro_apcc_toxicplants#A) does not list Anthurium as being toxic to pets, so it is probably okay if your cat nibbles on it.

Keep in mind that certain pets can be toxic to plants, so your Anthurium may not be safe!

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.

If this information has been helpful, please take the time to give me a rating and nomination.
