Ctenanthe Grey star

Question
Hi Tracy,
if a Ctenanthe rolls its leaves a bit does this mean it's too warm or hot where it is? The plant in question has recently been repotted and the soil is moist. The leaves stayed rolled up a bit though. Perhaps it needs a cooler spot?

Answer
Hi Cathy,
Ctenanthe leaves rolling has little to do with temperature.
The 3 main causes of this is light, humidity and possible root damage when the plant was repotted.
Make sure the plant has plenty of medium light and raise the humidity around the plant. A good way to raise humidity around the plant is to place a tray filled with pebbles and water under the plant. Be careful to keep water in the pebble tray at all times. I have found that regular misting helps.
If the roots had become damaged when the plant was repotted then the plant should recover in about a week or so as long as all the plants needs are met, such as light, water and humidity.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy & Gracie
