Can I prune my parlor palm?

Question
Hi Will.  When I sent you hte email with the photos of the plant leaves I forgot to ask about prunning my parlor palm.  Can I prune the fronds that I suspect have mites?  Does prunning a parlor palm stunt the growth?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Dwight,

You can prune off individual palm fronds, but you cannot prune off the top growing tip on any stem. Pruning a palm growing tip will stop it from growing and eventually it will die. I addition, you cannot propagate palms from cuttings.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions. If you would like to e-mail me some photos, I may be able to provide some additional insights.
