Dracaena Fragrans Massangeana

Question
I HAVE TWO Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana', THEY ARE ATLEAST 30 YEARS OLD.  I DO NOTHING TO THEM EXCEPT WATER.  FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME ONE OF THEM GREW OUT ABOUT A FOOT LONG BLOOMING SECTION FROM THE MIDDLE OF BOTH OF THE GREEN SECTION OF LEAVES.  THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED, THE SMELL ALTHOUGH BEING GOOD IS VERY, VERY STRONG.  HOW OFTEN SHOULD THEY BE BLOOMING?  WHAT SHOULD I DO TO HAVE THEM BLOOM AGAIN?

Answer
Hello Tanya,

Well you're a very lucky person. Dracaena very rarely bloom as house plants. Even though its blooming now the odds of it blooming again arent great. All i can really tell you is to enjoy it while it lasts and to keep doing what you're doing. Hopefully if you can recreate the conditions it was in when it bloomed you can get it to bloom again.

Good Luck,
Justin
