Yucca Elephantipes pruning

Question
I live in Florida.  In my front yard I have 2 yucca 8 years old and big enough for me to assume they are "elephantipes (about 13 - 15 feet).  Each has about 3 -4 "branches"? coming from the base.  Recently I noticed a number of branches coming off the main branches.  It looks like it is becoming a mass of leaves - not too nice to look at and, if I don't cut off some branches, too much weight for the base branches to support.  I am ready to cut off new growth, particularly that which can be reached from the ground. Any advice and info I should know?

Answer
Monroe,

You will need sturdy pruners or a good saw to cut it off with. Just cut wherever you feel you need too. the parts you cut off will easily root if you have friends that want plants. Just root them in a pot of sand. As you know they love the sand and sun and do quite well in Florida. Good luck.
