Mad. dragon plant

Question
I to have this wonderful. Mad. dragon plant.  I have it in a drain pot, but, is it a good idea to leave water in the drain part (the part that doesn't touch the plant just the bottom snap on part of plastic plant holder. thx:))

Answer
Erin,

There should not be water in the drain tray for more than a few hours if the plant can soak it back up. If you keep water in there constantly that is like setting your plant in a swamp, you are keeping it's roots constantly wet and this plant does not like that. It needs to dry out between waterings. Water it, then do not water it again until the top 2-3 inches of soil feel totally dry. That gives it the dry period it needs.  Good luck.
