Question
Can a norfork pine tree that has been a houseplant for about 5 years be planted outdoors successfully?   It's almost 5ft tall and wide now.

Only if you live where the temperature never drops below 40 degrees. A norfork pine tree is a tropical tree and cannot freeze at all. If you do plant it outside it likes to be in the sun in the morning and evenin and shaded in midday when the sun is hot. Good luck.
