restoring tropical houseplant leaves after frostbite

Question
What can I use to restore my tropical houseplant leaves after being frostbitten. My plant is a dracaena(corn plant). Most of the leaves have shriveled and turned brown. Is it true that epsom salt is good to revive greenery. Hopefully my plant can be saved. Please help!  thank you.

Answer
Neekie,

Epsom salts will trigger a blooming plant to bloom when it hasn't bloomed in awhile. It will not bring dead leaves back to life. Basically all you can do is to cut the plant off but leave some trunk and if any of the lowest 2 or 3 leaves are still partially green leave them to trigger the new growth. If the plant was healthy when it was frostbitten it should regrow just fine and do it fairly quick because it still has a full root system.

If it doesn't regrow you have learned that whenever the temperature even threatens to drop below 50 degrees your plants should go indoors for the night. Good luck.
